In for the Rain: Short Stories, The Woman Around the Willow

If you see her always say hello. For if you don’t your soul will go. She snatches it out with all her might. She takes you out to the willow that cries. She places you inside it. And you’ll never be found. If you want it back, you’ll have to sing now.

She only wants a melody that is simple and clear. One not to campy. One that’s just sincere. Always end with a smile with the right note. Always make sure you say sorry with a lot hope. And if she forgives you, tell her a simple “hey”. However, don’t stay too long as its your soul that goes away.
